This diagram is a simple concept created to illustrate the results associated with negative and positive feedback given to the official.

Coaches, referees, and parents work together as a unified team to stop the Circle of Criticism by implementing the Circle of Affirmation instead.

• Volunteer Referee makes a call.
• Coach gives a negative response to the Referee's call.
• Parent follows example of Coach and gives a negative response to the Referee's call.
• Children respond to Parent's negative reaction, undermining respect for the authority figure - the Volunteer Referee.
