The
fourth weekly connection is community. We believe
God has placed us as a church in this community for His
purpose. Therefore, we need to be involved.
Being involved also means understanding that God has
blessed us to be a blessing to others.
This may be
volunteering to coach kids at the YMCA, volunteering in
a local nursing home, serving on the PFA at Swimming Pen
Creek Elementary School (our adopted community school) or your child's school.
The list is endless. Basically, discover a place
outside of the church facility to serve and love others
for Christ.
This also extends to our global mission.
We are called to reach our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and
the ends of the world. Those cities were listed in
Acts 1:8 referring to the community around the first
century church. That commission has never expired.
Through this connection, we can be "on mission"
throughout the world. This mission emphasis is
part of our DNA as a church. It's just who we are.
